Informed Energy Solutions Inc. (IES) will always respect and honour your privacy. Your privacy is important to us and we will endeavour to protect and manage your private information in accordance with the following policy. What information do we store and collect?

IES is in the business of selling, installing and servicing solar energy systems and energy conservation products to clients. During the sales process, IES collects relevant information (your file) about you and your proposed project that may include your name, address, site location, site specifics, goals of your project, communication data (including email address / web sites), property data, email and correspondence data, information required by governmental authorities (example: IESO, Local distribution companies, local building department, Property Registry, power distribution companies, Canada Revenue Agency), personal financial data if you are applying for system financing, and credit card information, if you are paying by credit card.

IES also utilizes our web site to promote our products and services, and as such we utilize various analytical tools (example: Google Analytics) to determine the effectiveness of our web site(s) to meet client educational needs.

How is my information going to be used?

Your information is utilized to properly access your project’s characteristics, product selection, delivery and financing if required.  The information we collect will be used solely for determining or processing your product selection, assessing your renewable energy project, quoting and submitting all necessary government permit forms or applications.  

Your personal information is never sold or shared to any person, organization or third party.

How to stop receiving emails from us?

IES sends various communications, including newsletters to persons who have provided us with their email address. These emails are sent to you as a way of informing you of our products, services and news of interest. You may notify IES to stop sending you emails by contacting our office during regular business hours.

Who has access to my information?

Your information may be shared within IES, with sub-contractors (example: engineering consultants, installation contractors) government agencies or authorities directly related with your project), IES solar consultants, project specific consultants, lending and/or banking authorities (if financing requested), delivery companies, collection agents and product suppliers.  

IES clients may have access to their information by requesting an appointment to visit our office during normal business hours.  IES will accommodate individuals with physical disability’s, hearing and or sight loss who ask to see or review their files.

What data breach procedures we have in place

All client information shall be maintained in a secure manner. In this respect, secure means within a premises that is either staffed or locked, data that is protected by pass codes or other security measures. Although IES endeavours to provide security to all private data, IES is unable to provide security guarantees against theft or unauthorized use or access to information.

Changes to our Privacy Policy:

IES privacy policy will change from time to time for the benefit of our clients and the public. It is assumed that if you continue to use our service, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy.

Photographs and Monitoring of Systems:

IES may take photographs of your energy generation system, project or product placement.  IES may use these photographs for many purposes, such as an installation record, product placement or promotional purposes.  IES will not show any photographs of clients or show signage identifying client or address information unless IES obtains permission from the client.  

IES utilizes various energy monitoring companies (i.e. Enphase Enlighten) to monitor system performance for client peace of mind and warranty purposes.  IES may link client systems showing precise performance characteristics to a public domain web site where the general public may be able to view your system. IES will not link individual client systems at the request of the client.

Accountability:

IES is accountable for our client’s private information.  If you wish to discuss how your personal information has been managed by IES, please contact the President of IES during normal business hours.  Your input is important to IES.
